Little Tin Box: Formed back in 2000, Little Tin Box is a pairing of Charles Sadler & Kelly (Galvin) Sadler. Originally a solo project for Charles, Kelly was permentantly hired on to the project when their musical chemistry was realized. Their first release, Object~Subject, was released back in 2001. With the release of that CD, Little Tin Box witnessed instant success with their club hitting tracks "Sacred" & "Direction Deviant". They also topped the charts on the then MP3.com with their unique sound. Now, with the release of their second CD, Action Music, the next chapter in their event trilogy has come to fruition. If the success of their first CD is any indication as to the success of their second CD, be prepared to witness the coming of a new sound to the main stream music scene. the "Event" Trilogy: Not many musicians think beyond the album that they are currently working on. While it may seem unusual for one to look forward & try to create a cohesive trilogy of albums, this is what Little Tin Box has done. A storyteller since high school, Charles has chosen to focus his creativity and energy in to writing music as it comes more naturally to him than a standard literary format. In the “Event Trilogy”, Charles binds the first three CD releases by Little Tin Box in to a large social commentary about the human condition. Part One: Object~Subject (2001) introduces our character and her views on social interaction based upon the events that have shaped her in to who she is. The scene throughout this CD is predominately an empty stage, with the exception of “Sacred” where the poetry illustrates an emotional wasteland. The music strives to illustrate the main character’s circumstances and the mis-adventures of her past. Part Two: Action Music (2004) is all about the actions our character takes after she has reflected, explained, & truly found herself. Now she is taking steps to try and overcome her inadequacy which is what much of this CD is about. The poetry is spoken in the heat of confrontation, creating a sort of verbal boxing match. There are three voiceless tracks (“Opening Theme”, “Intermission”, and “Roll Credits”) that have been added to create in the mind of the listener a certain level of drama and a sense that they are viewing the action on the “big screen”. Part Three: The final chapter of the Event Trilogy is called Consensual Reality. There is neither stage nor camera here for our character to hide behind. The music is intended to present itself in a manner where the listener feels that they are in the same room as the main character. The instrumentation serves as photos placed out on a table, put out for the listeners to see. The poetry is about the consequences of actions taken and the reality that they’ve created in the life of the main character. The feelings are very raw, fresh, and abundant in this CD. The closing track on this CD will be called “Parting Ritual” which is intended to feel like a last goodbye. A fitting end to the Event Trilogy. With the closing of the "Event" Trilogy Charles will set out to build a new character for fans to follow. |
