Morningstar by Asmodeus X Sample the album: CDBaby |
INTRODUCTION: by Paul Fredric, August 2004
When the following essay found its way into my possession, I had that sense of simultaneous discovery and recognition that so often accompanies synchronicity, déjà vu, and notes from our own future. In his succinct exploration of Luciferian mythology, E. Minzenmayer, owner of Latex Records, draws together many of the questions and suspicions that had haunted me throughout the process of writing the music for Morningstar. He manages here to say with the written word, so many of the things I endeavored to say with music, and in a way which does not lead nor beg the question. Rather, he merely presents a collection of readily available information in a particular context, and it is up to the reader, (as in my own case - the listener), to draw their own conclusions. Just as the proud Lucifer was unlikely to take another’s view as his own without question, likewise would we expect none worthy of the mantle of ‘Prince’ to do otherwise. Many will read the following and find their instincts rebelling, for one reason or another, at the suggestion of a Luciferian teaching encoded right under our noses in the Holy Bible. Some won’t make it past the first few lines without blinders on, others will find the ideas touch something deep within them. Such is inherent in the Luciferian myth that every man must ‘cut his own way through the jungle’ as it were, gathering such tools as he requires, and such knowledge as he resonates with. Then, by recognizing in his own self that which makes him a true and legitimate ‘Son of the Morning’, may he go forth into the realm of creation, ordering a universe that is a reflection of his own true will and being. That albums such as Morningstar and writings such as the following eventually ‘find each other out’ is but another sign of a growing awareness rising up amongst the fringe of the Darkwave movement. Know that if these words ring true within your Self, you will likely soon find that there are in fact others out there with similar questions. The work laid out for you will be for you alone, but in your aloneness you may find comfort in the knowledge of others who also seek truths of self and being. As Timothy Leary once said, “Find the others”. MORNINGSTAR: A Luciferian Exploration By E. Minzenmayer (edited by Martin Lunn) Some of you may be curious about the esoteric concept behind “Morningstar”. While this is based on philosophies present in most mystery religions it is also right there in the forefront, without being hidden, in the western Bible. All one needs to do is reference a few scriptures such as Isaiah 14:12, Revelation 22:16, 2 Peter 1:19, and Job 38:6-7. Here one begins to see a correlation that at first seems blasphemous to even think of. Could Lucifer, the fallen angel, be one and the same as the Christ? One has only to look at psychology, metaphysics, and teachings on meditation where discussions regarding such things as the self and the Higher Self come into play to comprehend that there is something interesting going on. The Gnostic dictionary lists Lucifer as meaning not only “Light Bearer” but also “to bear, carry, support, lift, hold, or take up”, suggestive of a supportive force. Generally it is said that Lucifer is the shadow of the Christ. But what does that mean exactly? Let’s take a look at the legend of the fall. Many myths associate the fall with both Lucifer and the cornerstone. This cornerstone is the Rock of Sion, keystone of the Temple. The stone the builders of the temple rejected, much as Lucifer has been demonized by most, especially after the confusion regarding the representation by Milton. Respected psychologist Carl Jung stated, “Lucifer, the Morning Star, means Christ as well as the devil.” This ‘stone’ is also associated with the Holy Grail. This concept is similar to the one represented at the entrance to Rennes-le-Château which says in Latin “TERRIBILIS EST LOCUS ISTE”. The most common translation is usually given as “This place is terrible”, which could relate to a concept I call the daemonic-divine of which God is conceived of being both the extremes of what we call ‘good’ and ‘evil’, both of which are a fallacy of perception. However, another more accurate translation as Paul Fredric has pointed out to me is likely, “How awesome is this place” which signifies possibly another meaning though the statue of Asmodeus within its doors still leaves a similar impression. One must remember that Asmodeus whose name has been translated different ways, if nothing else, readily portrays the concept of dualism in divinity. Tracy Twyman of Dagobert's Revenge wrote, “We always read about the statement “This Place is Terrible” above the church door, which is a quote from Genesis, where Jacob falls asleep on a stone and has a vision of a ladder leading to Heaven with angels ascending and descending. This, of course, is the same Stone of Destiny brought to Scotland by Joseph of Arimathea, and became the stone upon which the British monarchy are crowned, even today. What’s noteworthy is that beneath the words “This place is terrible” on the doorway, the sentence seems to be completed by the words in Latin, “But this is the House of God and the Gateway to Heaven”, making it not a curse but a statement upon the dual nature of divinity. Lucifer then is regarded as a sort of Prometheus who brings divine knowledge to mankind and who guides man to the heights of divinity to become Christ-like. It is said that Lucifer was the serpent in the Garden who gave Knowledge to man. This same serpent is also known as Kundalini by some. It might be suggested that the fall of Lucifer and his angels is in fact the origin of mankind as a divine race, spirit falling into matter. It could further be said that we are all Lucifers striving to become Christs. Don’t take our word for it, research and conduct your own tests. You decide what you believe. Do not adopt out of ignorance the theories and dogmas of society. Like the Christ/Magdalene stories under inspection at present, this too is a myth that attempts to debunk usually open the eyes of the researcher to its Truths. Personally, I've always perceived Lucifer and Satan as two completely different concepts and I was confused at first when I saw that all paths from biblical reference lead to Luciferian principles. I was not ready to accept a concept so contradictory to my upbringing thinking that it may be a trick in itself to mislead me. Therefore, I kept digging and finally got it, though not through traditional means. Isaiah 14:12 How art thou fallen from heaven, O Lucifer, son of the morning! how art thou cut down to the ground, which didst weaken the nations! How you have fallen from heaven, O morning star, son of the dawn! You have been cast down to the earth, you who once laid low the nations! Revelation 22:16 I Jesus have sent mine angel to testify unto you these things in the churches. I am the root and the offspring of David, and the bright and morning star. 2 Peter 1:19 And we have the word of the prophets made more certain, and you will do well to pay attention to it, as to a light shining in a dark place, until the day dawns and the morning star rises in your hearts. Job 38:6-7 Whereupon are the foundations thereof fastened? or who laid the corner stone thereof; When the morning stars sang together, and all the sons of God shouted for joy? In 2 Peter it is stated most plainly that the morning star can rise in the hearts of all. Having knowledge of Jungian psychology I would have to identify Lucifer as the Self (or Higher Ego) and Satan as the self (or personality, lower, ego). Speaking esoterically, Maya is the delusion of separation which emanates from The Source created by what is known as the feminine principle of the divine or, as it is known in the Bible, the Holy Ghost. This Maya affecting the Fallen Self, as a Lucifer, creates the personal association, or personality ego, which is called here a Satan. Some also consider the delusion of Maya, or cosmic delusion of ignorance obscuring God from mankind, to be a Satan as well so this concept can be confusing to say the least. The Fallen Angels are, as I suspected months ago, us, the lot of us as humanity, our Higher Selves fallen into material form. This concept seems to be a reference to the same principles taught through meditation and higher forms of Yoga, the teachings of the attainment of union of the individual soul with God. from The Collected Works of C.G. Jung: "Therefore Lucifer was perhaps the one who best understood the divine will struggling to create a world and who carried out that will most faithfully. For, by rebelling against God, he became the active principle of a creation which opposed to God a counter-will of its own." (vol. 11 p. 290) Some claim that Jung tried to say that Lucifer is the human ‘Shadow’. If this Shadow is not more clearly defined as the Self, the unseen spiritual, immortal, and true nature of mankind, then what else could it be? You will find also that some relate it to Cosmic Intellect which again could only be the Higher Self. A.A. Bailey’s (disciple of Madame Blavatsky) own Lucis Trust organization seems to reflect these teachings and is also named after the ‘angel’ yet you will not find the name ‘Lucifer’ anywhere related. The Lucis Trust book “The Reappearance of Christ” seems to portray the same concept as the Self-Realization Fellowship (founded by Hindu Yogi Yogananda) book “The Second Coming of Christ” that this second coming is in fact the Christ within the Heart of each of us. There is so much more to this that also associates Lucifer with the Helios (Sun God) aspects of ancient myths which again makes further connections with God and Christ throughout. Also, the Isaiah scripture above was supposedly originally written about a king and not an angel by the ancient Hebrews, the word Lucifer being Latin and added intentionally later probably for esoteric meaning. Let’s go back to the cornerstone the builders rejected. Psalms 118: 22-23 The stone which the builders refused is become the head stone of the corner. This is the Lord’s doing; it is marvelous in our eyes. In Mathew 21:42 Jesus says of this Psalm, “Did ye never read in the scriptures, The stone which the builders rejected, the same is become the head of the corner: this is the Lord's doing, and it is marvelous in our eyes?” And finally in Ephesians 2:20 this same Rock of Sion is associated with Christ. And are built upon the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Jesus Christ himself being the chief corner stone The stone becoming the head stone could also be associated with the capstone of the pyramid. However, here we have the Luciferian principle stating exactly what Jesus once said, that ‘ye are gods’. Christ lives within the hearts of all mankind. We are the fallen angels in material form ignorant of who we truly are, sleeping to our divine existence. Should we become enlightened and experience the rise of Kundalini then we can become like Christ and fully aware. The stone which fell from heaven is in fact your Holy Self sleeping in a mortal cocoon. I believe we should all take note of Psalm 17:15, “As for me, I will behold thy face in righteousness: I shall be satisfied, when I awake, with thy likeness”, and thus give respect to the Crucified Serpent. I find it interesting that my personal path which began in childhood as a Protestant has taken me from turning away from Christianity and into many avenues of neo-pagan thought and mystical teachings. While I maintain a firm belief that the Divine Feminine is important in all things and a balance between the political patriarchy of the modern comprehension and misinterpretation by most of Christianity and the matriarchal pagan religions of old should be maintained. I also feel that all religions hold the same truths and that no matter which path you choose, follow it fervently and seek the Truth in all things. Some think that if one is led to the Left Hand Path their soul may be doomed for eternity. I do not believe this but instead that the Holy Ghost, the feminine and creative aspect of God, will find you no matter what dark corner you hide in. Often the greatest revelations hide in the most secret dark corners of consciousness and it is here that we must seek the Truth out when the prevalent thoughts of the day are misconstrued. The old motto “Seek and ye shall find” will hold true if you are sincere. All paths lead to a single Source. While I do not like sounding preachy and fear many in our ‘scene’ will be apt to turn away from anything with Biblical scripture in it, I’d like to say simply that synchronicity brought us here. When Asmodeus X began the Morningstar project and even upon its completion I had not given it much thought and was not sure what they were up to to be honest. I was simply following my own intuitional path of study which has lead me through many wild ideas in the past year when I myself discovered the principles brought to light through their work. It is without any actual intention that I have arrived at the realization of the Luciferian principle of Morningstar soon after the album’s release. I compiled some information personally, realizing the correlation between my discoveries and the CD, I then sent Paul Fredric of the band a document as a sort of outline. Together we have decided that it might not be a bad idea to compile these results into a prose format to portray the album concept with the written word as an accompaniment to the musical work of art. I have said nothing of the many details that have lead me here. However, I will say that at the time I made the correlation I was reading a book by Martin Lunn titled Da Vinci Code Decoded. In a footnote he mentions world myths in which an heroic god descends on a rope to bestow enlightenment to mankind and its correlation to the Hanged Man card of the Tarot. Some may remember the album cover of my label’s first release Electro Age I: The Awakening. Oddly enough this sparked some concepts in my mind. I continued my personal research regarding the descent of Lord Krishna and the Rock of Sion. After studying The Watchers, reading the Egyptian Book of the Dead, Hermetic Philosophy, and a bit of UFOlogy along with the rest of my life’s research a connection was made and the scriptures became revealed along with many other esoteric concepts. I make this last statement for a few reasons. First, to show that these concepts are not purely Christian though this is the method of revelation we have chosen for this document since it is the system most of Western culture is most familiar with. Also, you may hear of a future project which I am evolving specifically for darklings interested in spirituality and mysticism in which much of what I’ve said above will be applicable. Should this come to fruition I would love to see Goths and Industrialists the world over involved. Only time will tell, hail the Black Mother! Lastly, I wanted to reflect how the many projects on my label are often tied together in unmentioned and esoteric ways. Though many may not make the correlations, they are there and often those involved do not see them until the work is complete and sometimes not even then. In many ways Latex Records is an entity of its own, with its own voice, which speaks through the works of its artists and owner. Finally, in the words of Frank Herbert, “The Sleeper must awaken.” Enjoy! ~ Edwin Minzenmayer (aka TG Mondalf) Latex Records, LLC http://latexrecords.com/ You can find the author Martin Lunn at the Da Vinci Code Decoded Website. |
